Three persons were booked today for "spreading rumours and fabricated information" on WhatsApp mobile application, police said.
Three WhatsApp group admins -- Javed Ahmad, Syed Tahir Bukhari and Raja Hilal from Budgam, Baramulla and Pulwama districts respectively -- have been booked for airing "rumours and fabricated information", a police spokesman said.
He said the false information could have vitiated peace in Kashmir Valley.
Investigation into various updates and posts that have surfaced on WhatsApp and social networking sites is going on, the spokesman said, adding more arrests were expected.
