According to an IMD report, a low pressure area lies over Telangana, south Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha region.
In Telangana's Medak district, three persons lost their lives in separate rain-related incidents since last night, while four columns of Army have been deployed in rain-affected areas of Hyderabad and neighbouring Ranga Reddy district.
The state government has approached Indian Air Force to rescue 21 civilians stranded in Medak district.
The weatherman has predicted "heavy to very heavy" rains in isolated places of the state. Some of the low lying areas in Hyderabad are still cut off from the rest of the city.
Following an instruction from Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, a 60-member National Disaster Response Force team has been kept on the standby in the city for rescue operations.
In the national capital, it was a pleasant day with the mercury settling at 35 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year, while humidity levels oscillated between 81 and 43 per cent.
With heavy rains predicted for the next three days in Andhra Pradesh, the Water Resources Department is maintaining a steady level of 30 TMC ft of water in the K L Rao Sagar reservoir on river Krishna, up stream the Prakasam Barrage.
While 1.62 lakh cusecs water is flowing into the K L Rao Sagar reservoir, 1.51 lakh cusecs is being let out. But inflow into Prakasam Barrage at Vijayawada has reduced to around 50,000 cusecs.
