Mohammad Maqbool Shah, Ashiq Hussain Khawaja and Dilawar Beig had gone to PoK in early 1990s for arms training and returned via Nepal recently, a police spokesman said.

Shah had come with his wife and three kids, while Khawaja was accompanied by wife and five children.

On reaching Kupwara, the militants and their family members surrendered before Trehgam police station, the spokesman said.

Similarly, Beig who had gone across the Line of Control for arms training in 1993 also returned through Nepal and surrendered before Trehgam police station, the spokesman said.
