The accident took place when the driver lost control of the vehicle, police said.
The deceased were identified as Rehan (5), his father Mohammad Asif (26) and Sikander (26), son of Abdul Rasak--all residents of Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh.
The injured persons, identified as Junar's wife Bina (26), his sons Junar(4) and Umesh(6) Afleen(26), wife of Asif, who were taken to a hospital in Manali. All of them were stated to be out of danger.
The driver of the vehicle Babu and guide Rakesh, both hailing from Mandi, were also among the injured.
The tourists had hired the cab from Mandi for visiting Manali and Rohtang Pass.
