Rajan, a resident of Guru ka Khooh in Taran Taran district, was arrested yesterday and a knife besides Rs 1.5 lakh was seized from his possession, Phagwara SP, Jasbir Singh Rai said.
The cash was his share of booty from a robbery of Rs 10 lakh at Batala last year, he said, adding, he has been booked under various provisions of Arms Act.
One of his accomplices, Navdip Singh Navi of village Malian in Taran Taran district, is already in Muktsar jail, he said.
The gangsters were allegedly involved in over dozen robberies and snatching of gold chains and a vehicle.
They were also allegedly involved in freeing dreaded gangster Akul Khatri from police custody after shooting at and injuring a head constable in Nawanshar a few months back, the SP said.
