The deceased, identified as one Sudhir Singh, was a native of Saharsa in Bihar and lived here in the Pul Prahladpur area with his wife and four children. He worked as a salesman at a garment store, said a police official.
The mishap took place in the afternoon when Singh was headed home after attending a religious function at Kalkaji temple. Reaching Maa Anandmai Marg, he was hit from behind allegedly by a speeding MCD truck which dragged him for around 10m, said the official.
Passers-by called up the police control room and Singh was rushed to a hospital where he was, however, declared brought dead. A case of rash driving and causing death by negligence has been registered by police in this connection, the official added.
