"Mahesh Chandra Saini, an employee at a state museum here, complained of severe pain in his heart today. He was rushed to nearby Primary Health centre where doctors declared him dead," District Magistrate Rajesh Kumar said.
"His post-mortem report has confirmed death due to heart attack," he said.
Saini was posted on election duty in Ram Nagla polling booth falling under Naujheel block at the time of the incident.
Meanwhile, no untoward incident was reported from any polling centre in the second round of village Panchayat election.
