60-year-old tribal held in 1983 molestation case

A 60-year-old tribal was arrested from Chhattisgarh's Raigarh district, 31 years after he had allegedly molested a minor girl, police said today.
"The accused Sadhram Sidar was nabbed in connection with molestation of a girl," Raigarh ASP Praphulla Thakur said.
A case was registered against Sadhram (29) in 1983 with Jute Mill police station for allegedly molesting the minor.
"Later, Sadhram shifted from his native place Nansiya to Lailunga region following which he was mentioned as absconder in the police record and the investigation in the case was pending," he said.
Sadhram was held when he himself contacted police after he came to know from his close relatives that he was being trailed by cops.

Sadhram had been released on bail that time as the offence was bailable, the police officer said.
According to Sadhram, he did not even remember what had happened three decades ago.
