The incident took place as the driver lost control of the vehicle, Additional Superintendent of Police Neeraj Soni said adding the victims were returning after visiting Adivasi Kanhan Dev temple. The victims were residents of Bhajipani village in the district.
The condition of five injured persons was described as serious, Soni said.
The district administration has announced financial assistance of Rs 10,000 each to the family members of the deceased and Rs 5,000 each to the injured persons, he said.
