The accused used bluetooth facility in mobile phones to enable the examinees to write the examinations held for the BPO and BEO, Additional Director General of Police (Headquarters) Ravindra Kumar told reporters.

He said that 19 members of an organised gang were arrested, five of them identified as Sanjeev Kumar, Rakesh Ranjan, Abhishek Munna and Rajiv - a student of Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Patna, for enabling cheating in the examinations.

The other arrested persons were mostly the parents of the wards for facilitating cheating, Kumar said.

The examinations were held for 533 posts each of BPO and BEO, the ADG said adding that the police had received information that the gang members had made a deal with the parents of 50 examinees for payment of between of Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs two lakh in lieu of providing correct answer of the question by getting the question papers leaked.

The gang members had called the guardians at Mukhdumpur secondary schools in Punpun block of Patna district recently and fixed the deal, the ADG said adding a police team led by the IG (Operations) Amit Kumar had exposed the crime by sending a cop as an examinee to the gang members.

A case has been registered by the economic offence wing and those examinees involved in the crime will be arrested soon.
