Aam Aadmi Party today claimed that the electricity connection of its candidate from R K Puram Assembly seat was disconnected by power distribution company BSES for non payment of bills.
AAP leader Shazia Ilmi had not paid her dues of Rs 58,000 for the last few months as part of AAP's protest against power tariff hike in Delhi.
The party has launched 'Bijli-pani satyagrah' and has requested people not to pay inflated electricity bills.
"The electricity meter of Shazia Ilmi, was removed by BSES officials in the presence of eight police personnel from C R Park police station," the party said.
"The officials not only took away the electricity meter, they also broke the seal despite protests," it alleged.
The party asked that why no action has been taken against several Congress and BJP leaders against whom electricity bill worth lakh of rupees is pending.
"Surprisingly, no action has ever been taken against them. This only proves that BJP and Congress were hand in glove...It is clearly evident that state machinery is being used to harass AAP leaders and volunteers," the party said.
