The sacred portals of Adi Badri temple were ceremoniously reopened today after a month- long closure for winter.
After elaborate rituals, the gates of Adi Badri temple were thrown open for devotees on the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti even as icy winds swept the temple and adjoining areas near Gairsain along Karnaprayag-Ranikhet motor road, a temple committee official said.
Devotees braved freezing cold conditions to pay their obeisance, he said.
Special prayers dedicated to Hindu god Vishnu were offered at the temple to mark the reopening of its doors.
