We welcome the decision of the Union government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi wherein the cabinet approved the establishment of an IIM in Jammu from the current academic year (2016-17), and approval of Rs 100 crore for modernisation of infrastructure of NIT in Srinagar, president AJKPC Anil Sharma said.
Sharma criticised former chief minister Omar Abdullah for "opposing IIM in Jammu" and alleged that he was "creating a gap between the two regions of the state for petty politics".
"Jammu gets the IIT & gets the IIM also. Where have all those voices that called for balanced regional development in J-K disappeared?" he had tweeted.
