"In some events in past, police and administrative officials reached the spot late or prompt action was not taken by them in dealing with serious cases. In future it has to be ensured that the same is not repeated or else stringent action would be taken against lax officials," an official release quoting Akhilesh said.
Yadav said that maintaining peace, communal harmony and law and order is the utmost priority of the government and those trying to disturb normalcy will not be spared at any cost.
Administrative officials bear a lot of responsibility and they need to remain vigilant and alert while discharging their responsibilities, Akhilesh noted.
He said that in case of any untoward incident, it is the responsibility of authorities to reach the spot soon to control the situation.
