AMUTA secretary Mustapha Zaidi said the association today passed a resolution expressing serious concern over the law and order situation on the campus.
The state government should immediately order a CBI probe into the "daylight murder" of the student on the university campus, he said.
"This was necessary for restoring the confidence of the university community," Zaidi added.
Alamgir (27), a final year student of Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), was shot at on the main road near the varsity's Chemistry department by motorcycle-borne armed persons on Friday.
Meanwhile, in view of the prevailing situation on the campus following the student's murder, AMUTA has postponed its token "dharna", which was called in support of multiple issues of the teachers. The agitation was scheduled to be held tomorrow.
