Protesters took to the streets here today against the killing of five Indian soldiers by Pakistani troop in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch sector.
During the several protests in different parts of Jammu, the protesters set ablaze flags of Pakistan and raised slogans against the neighbouring country.
Over 300 activists of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha set on fire the effigy of UPA government and a Pakistan flag.
Meanwhile, BJP activists held similar protests at Poonch and Rajouri.
Strict action should be taken against Pakistan as it has repeatedly indulged in such activities, BJYM state chief Ravinder Raina said.
He lambasted the Congress-led UPA government for being "soft" towards Pakistan, despite the repeated audacious and us and provocative attacks by the neighbouring nation.
Meanwhile, General Secretary and Spokesperson of Nationalist Congress Party, Sudershan Choudhary urged the army to retaliate strongly to the frequent ceasefire violations by Pakistan.
Led by state chief Shiv Sena Chief, Ashok Gupta, activists of Sena and Dogra Front took out a procession from Rani Park to City Chowk.
Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is taking about peace initiatives, whereas the neighbouring country was frequently violating ceasefire, Gupta said.
A protest rally was taken out by activists of Jammu West Assembly Movement, who condemned the killing of five jawans.
