The first bench comprising acting Chief Justice R K Agrawal and Justice M Sathyanarayana, who took suo-motu proceedings in the case, said the police officials did not follow the Supreme Court's directions at the time of his arrest.
Before and after the arrest of the magistrate, the district Judge of the area was not appraised of it.
After hearing from the counsel for the police officials, the court posted the matter for two weeks for filing of counter.
He was arrested on a complaint by the Sub-Inspector attached to Palladam Police Station in Tirupur District.
He was later released on bail by a court in Tirupur.
