Dasari Ramakrishna, a former UoH student, and his friend Chakrapani, an M-Tech student, allegedly drove into the campus last night and passed some comments at the girl near the Social Sciences Building when she was returning to hostel, according to the University release.
They also allegedly tried to pull her into the car. After she and another student raised alarm, security guards and students caught the duo and handed them over to Chandanagar Police.
Later, students protested the incident and demanded more security.
UoH authorities said they had decided to step up the security with more outposts, streetlights and increased patrolling. Also, a 24-hour helpline would be installed where students can call in emergency.
