violence by an auto driver a girl and her friend were abused and slapped at Belgachia area of the city today.
As per the complaint lodged by the girl with the police, the auto driver had hit the girl when she was walking down the road. When the girl and her friend protested, he passed abusive remarks and slapped the friend.
The police arrested the auto driver on receipt of the complaint.
West Bengal Transport Minister Madan Mitra had assured that steps will be taken against errant autorickshaw drivers.
