DMK Member of Parliament T R Baalu will meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh tomorrow and hand over a letter of party chief M Karunanidhi seeking a solution to the ongoing strike in Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC).
Workers of NLC have been on strike for the past nine days against the Centre's decision to disinvest five per cent shares in the Navaratna PSU.
According to a party release, Baalu will meet the Prime Minister at 12 noon and hand over the letter seeking the Centre to bring a solution to the ongoing strike by "avoiding" the 5 per cent stake sale in Neyveli Lignite Corporation.
Ruling AIADMK and other parties have also opposed the disinvestment decision, which aims at garnering Rs 466 crore.
