Bihar cadre IPS officer Shivdeep Lande today joined Mumbai Police as DCP of Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC).
Maharashtra Home Department issued orders of his posting today, an official said.
Lande, who hails from Akola district in Vidarbha, had expressed a desire to work in his home state a few years ago, he said.
The 2006-batch IPS was transferred to Maharashtra Police while on central deputation a few months before, but was on wait list for posting, he said.
Lande succeeds Jayant Naiknavare, who sometime back was sent on Central deputation and posted in the CBI.
