'Birdman' about a once high-flying superhero actor, who is trying to rebuild his career with a Broadway play, earned Michael Keaton the best male actor nomination, Edward Norton received a best supporting male actor nod, and Emma Stone, who plays Keaton's daughter, picked up a nod for best supporting female actor. The film was also nominated for best ensemble.
'Boyhood' was filmed over the course of 12 years and followed its lead, Ellar Coltrane, from the age of 6 through his adolescence. The movie, which was nominated for best ensemble -- the SAG Awards' equivalent of Oscar's best picture -- also earned best actor and actress nominations for Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette, who play Coltrane's parents, respectively.
'The Theory of Everything', a biopic about physicist and mathematician Stephen Hawking, received three nominations- ensemble cast, best female actor for Felicity Jones and best male actor for Eddie Redmayne.
Others nominated in the best actor category are Steve Carell ('Foxcatcher') and Jake Gyllenhaal ('Nightcrawler').
Jennifer Aniston ('Cake'), Julianne Moore ('Still Alice'), Rosamund Pike ('Gone Girl') and Reese Witherspoon ('Wild') will also fight out for the best actress prize.
'Selma', the drama about the 1965 civil rights march, was shut out, as was 'Unbroken', the Angelina Jolie-directed version of Laura Hillenbrand's bestselling book about prisoner of war Louis Zamperini.
The 2015 Screen Actors Guild Awards will take place on January 25, 2015 at the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center.
All winners including from the TV categories will be announced during the telecast, except for the stunt ensemble honours which will be revealed from the red carpet.
Debbie Reynolds will be feted with Lifetime Achievement Award.
