BJP spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak said that the memorandum points many important issues such as -- hike in power tariff during CM Akhilesh Yadav's regime and discrimination in distributing compensation to the farmers.
"After a 24-hour long dharna as part of a state-wide agitation against alleged poor law and order situation and policies of SP government in the state, the BJP MPs and leaders led by state president Laxmi Kant Bajpai submitted a memorandum to Governor Ram Naik," he said.
"The burden is passed on to the honest customers as the government has failed to check line losses and pilferage despite the fact that there is no shortage of power from the Centre," he said.
The party also alleged discrimination on political ground and corruption in distribution of compensation to the farmers, Pathak said, adding that the payment of cane dues was not ensured to the farmers despite High Court order.
"MPs from the state participated in the dharna in front of Vidhan Bhawan against policies of UP government and poor law and order," BJP state president Laxmi Kant Bajpai said.
He said that BJP would protest against "anti-people policies" of the government at every level.
BJP had won 71 out of 80 seats during Lok Sabha elections held earlier this year. Of the 71 MPs from the state, 14 are either Union Minister or Minister of State, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
Addressing the dharna, Bajpai alleged that ever since the Akhilesh Yadav government has come to power, law and order has "hit rock bottom" and there was "spurt in henious crimes, including rape, murder, loot and abduction".
