Black pepper, select copra slip on reduced demand

Prices of select copra and black pepper slipped at the spices market here today due to reduced demand from stockists and retailers as well as lower export offtake.
While, rest all other spices ruled steady in the absence of any major buying activity.
Black pepper moved down by Rs 5 per kilo to Rs 635/725 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 640/730.
Copra Rajapur Mumbai fell by Rs 500 per quintal to Rs 16,000 from previous closing level of Rs 16,500 and Copra edible Mumbai dropped by Rs 300 per quintal to Rs 11,500 as against Rs 11,800 last weekend.
Following are today's closing rates (in Rs with previous rates in brackets):
Black pepper (per kg) 635/725 (640/730), ginger bleached (per kg) 230 (230), ginger unbleached (per kg) 250 (250), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 8,700 (8,700), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 8,600 (8,600), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 16,000 (16,500), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 11,500 (11,800).
