Chhattisgarh govt to give out-of-turn promotions to STF jawans

Chhattisgarh government today said it had decided to give out-of-turn promotions to 42 personnels of the Special Task Force who fought the Naxals in Sukma district on April 11.
It also announced bravery medals for the seven policemen who died in the ambush set up by the ultras.
Additional Director General of Police R K Vij said the state wanted to acknowledge that the STF jawans, who were outnumbered by the Naxals, fought with determination during the ambush near Pidmel.
While seven policemen were killed, ten others were injured.
