China's Desen International Media is working on the comedy that starred Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep, said The Hollywood Reporter.
For the version, the story will relocate from New York to Shanghai, China. Fox is currently not involved in the remake.
Desen International Media did not reveal if it has the movie rights to the original Lauren Weisberger novel.
The Chinese censorship bureau, SAPPRFT, has already approved the project.
"The Devil Wears Prada" was released in China in February 2007, eight months after it hit the theatres in the US.
