CID team visits Behrampore hospital

Top officials of the state Criminal Investigation Department today visited Murshidabad Medical College Hospital here after two persons were killed and several others injured in a stampede following a fire incident.
ADG, CID Rajesh Kumar and DIG, CID B L Meena visited the hospital early today and talked to some patients and workers.
A forensic team also arrived from Kolkata to conduct a test.
Meanwhile, the Congress today demanded a CBI inquiry into yesterday's fire incident.
"We feel the inquiry should be handed over to the CBI to bring out the truth," Congress leader and MP Pradip Bhattacharya said.
In a related development, offices of some political parties situated on the premises of the hospital were closed down after state ministers Subhendu Adhikary and Chandrima Bhattacharya objected to their presence yesterday.
