Clerk sent to judicial custody after accepting a bribe

A special court here has sent a clerk to jail for accepting Rs 3,000 as bribe.
The clerk identified as Krishna Kumar Sharma, posted at the Madhya Pradesh Housing Board was sent to judicial custody by Special Judge Indira Singh after Lokayukta police submitted a charge sheet against him under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
Sharma pleaded for bail but it was refused and sent to jail.
The clerk was caught red-handed by the Lokayukta police while accepting a Rs 3,000 bribe from complainant Mahesh Jain on January 6 for transferring a property in the name of the purchaser.
The property in question was registered in the name of Jain's wife.
Sharma had already taken Rs 4,000 from the person in whose name the property was supposed to be transferred.
