The clerk identified as Krishna Kumar Sharma, posted at the Madhya Pradesh Housing Board was sent to judicial custody by Special Judge Indira Singh after Lokayukta police submitted a charge sheet against him under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
Sharma pleaded for bail but it was refused and sent to jail.
The clerk was caught red-handed by the Lokayukta police while accepting a Rs 3,000 bribe from complainant Mahesh Jain on January 6 for transferring a property in the name of the purchaser.
Sharma had already taken Rs 4,000 from the person in whose name the property was supposed to be transferred.
