CM Fadnavis directs officials to prepare startup policy

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today asked officials to prepare a policy for startups and submit the draft for suggestions in public domain at the earliest.
"The CM has asked officials to prepare a policy for startups and submit the draft for suggestions of public at the earliest," an official in the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) said.
Fadnavis reviewed various flagship programmes for Industry Department and Department of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship in two different meetings.
He also took stock of monthly progress of Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs), flow of investments and mega projects.
Out of the total MoUs for Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) 22 per cent are in production stage, 14 per cent under consideration, whereas initial steps have been taken in 46 cases.
Out of the 10 MoUs of Tourism Department, 6 are on track, 4 under-consideration, the official said.
Fadnavis has directed that every investor be given a set of rules containing exact information on whom to approach if specific services are not provided.
The CM also directed all departments to comply with the requirements of Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) by March 2017 for ease of doing business.
While reviewing Key Result Areas (KRAs) of Skill Development Department, Fadnavis directed to connect 417 ITIs with public sector undertaking for quality education and employment opportunities.
The CM also called for increased coordination between employers and job seekers registered with Maharojgar and establish a mechanism to send information directly to the needy.
It was reported in the meeting that department is in process for setting up of overseas placement and skill centre on public-private participation (PPP) model at Mumbai and Nagpur.
