Cold wave tightens grip over UP with Agra nears freezing point

Cold tightened its grip on Uttar Pradesh as temperatures in most parts of the state remained several notches below normal with Agra being the coldest at 0.1 degree Celsius.
The Taj-city recorded the lowest temperature in the state at 0.1 degree Celsius, according to MeT department.
A report from the Met office said temperature appreciably fell in Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Faizabad, Allahabad, Kanpur, Lucknow, Agra, while a decline was also registered in Bareilly, Moradabad, Jhansi, on last night.
The mercury was markedly below normal in Agra division.
The Met office has forecast that the weather would be mainly dry over the state and moderate fog would occur at a few places in the morning hours during the next two days.
