Facing the heat from BJP in the Assembly session last month, Siddaramaiah had announced a judicial probe but the principal opposition has been insisting on a CBI inquiry into corruption pertaining to denotification of 541 acres in Arkavati Layout by the Bangalore Development Authority.
Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister T B Jayachandra today said opposition BJP leader in the Assembly Jagadish Shettar had raised the issue and the government gave a detailed explanation on it.
The government has, he said, in accordance with the Commission of Inquiry Act, set up the Commission of Inquiry by appointing Kempenna as its head.
He said the Commission would submit its report as soon as possible but not later than six months from the date of its first sitting.
