Bihar Director General of Police Abhayanand told reporters that police had identified the properties of arms dealer Kundan Mandal worth crores of rupees at Kharagpur market in Munger town, including a palatial building.
The action has been taken under sections of Illegal Activities Prevention Act, he said adding an order had been issued by the home secretary in this regard. A copy of the order has been sent to court to start proceedings for the confiscation.
Police had arrested two Maoists and seized an Austria-made pistol from a vehicle belonging to Mandal at Nauwagarh locality in Ramnagar on July 26 and unearthed huge wealth amassed by Mandal through income from illegal arms supply to the Maoists, the DGP said.
