Congress workers today held a meeting condemning local MP and Union Minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti over her hate speech, and burnt her effigy.
Congressmen, led by former MLA and party's district unit president Amarnath Singh Anil, held a meeting and passed a resolution condemning her statement, Anil said.
The speakers termed her statement as aimed at vitiating the atmosphere which has tarnished the image of the district and the voters too are feeling cheated, Anil said.
The Congress activists later burnt the minister's effigy to lodge their protest, he added.
