Congress today demanded sacking of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh, claiming that a narco analysis test conducted on the main accused in a multi-crore cooperative bank scam has clearly indicted him and his three ministerial colleagues.
"The only way to trace the truth in the Rs 54.38 crore scam in which hard earned money of 25,716 depositors of the bank has been siphoned off is (to have) an SIT probe monitored by the Supreme Court.
"Until then, all the guilty including the Chhattisgarh CM must be sacked forthwith," party's chief spokesman Randeep Surjewala told reporters in the presence of the state PCC chief Bhupesh Baghel and CLP leader T P Singhdeo.
Surjewala, who showed part of a video of the narco analysis test of main accused Umesh Sinha, claimed that the test clearly indicts the Chief Minister, his ministerial colleagues Brij Mohan Agarwal, Amar Agarwal and Rajesh Mudat as also National BJP Secretary Ram Vichar Netam.
"For obvious reasons, the Chhattisgarh police never produced the report, including video recording of the narco test, before the court hearing the case," he said.
Besides, he said that though charges have been framed against accused persons, "shockingly neither the CM nor his ministerial colleagues nor the BJP Secretary have been made accused".
He wondered as to why narco test report was not produced it as the most important "link evidence" in the Indira Priyadarshini Mahila Nagrik Sahkari Bank scam case.
"If a narco test can be used in many prominent criminal cases such as that of Ajmal Kasab, Gulshan Kumar murder case and recently nabbed terrorist Naved, why can't the same test conducted by an independent forensic laboratory under orders of the court be taken into consideration to unearth the apparent fraud," he asked.
Earlier, Congress had held the Chief Minister squarely responsible for an alleged PDS scam in the state.
Congress has already been demanding the resignation of Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj over the Lalit Modi controversy and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan in connection with the Vyapam scam.
