AICC spokesperson Sravan Dasoju Tuesday took potshots at the campaign theme of ruling TRS in Telangana that it should win all the Lok Sabha seats in the State to ensure that it gets funds and development projects.
The Telangana Rashtra Samithi has failed to achieve anything though it had almost all the MPs on its side in the outgoing Lok Sabha, he alleged.
Talking to reporters, the congress leader claimed that TRS had 16 MPs MPs on its side (after MPs from other parties switched over to TRS) in the outgoing Lok Sabha.
"Before making a fresh appeal for 16 seats, KCR (TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao) and KTR (TRS working president K T Rama Rao) should first apologise to people for their failure in previous term," he said.
Claiming that neither NDA nor UPA was in a position to form government post-Lok Sabha elections, the TRS has been urging people to elect its nominees in 16 Lok Sabha seats, leaving Hyderabad represented by TRS ally AIMIM, to ensure that Telangana gets a better deal.
Meanwhile, Congress nominee from Chevella Lok Sabha constituency in Telangana Konda Vishweshwar Reddy Tuesday sought the support of CPI and Telangana Jana Samiti.
Reddy met CPI state secretary Chada Venkat Reddy and TJS president M Kodandaram for their parties support in the Lok Sabha polls.
Earlier, Congress candidate from Malkajgiri A Revanth Reddy had also sought the support of CPI and TJS.
The CPI and TJS were partners in the 'grand alliance' led by the Congress for the Assembly polls in Telangana in December last.
The CPI and TJS are contesting only a few seats in the elections.
Congress sources claimed that the leaders of Bahujan Left Front (BLF) have extended support to their party.
The BLF had contested the Assembly polls in alliance with the CPI(M).
Meanwhile, Vishweshwar Reddy claimed that his campaign has been getting good response.
However, the ruling TRS misused official machinery to disrupt his canvassing, he alleged.
