Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today said years of experience in governance and serving the people, has enabled the Congress in developing a "microscopic view" to get a real picture of the happenings all around.
On Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech on the Motion of Thanks on the President's address in the Rajya Sabha, the Chief Minister said his party prefers to take a critical view on anything where people's interests were involved.
The Prime Minister in his speech had taken a dig at Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad for bringing a record of people who did not have accounts under Jan Dhan Yojana and said if the UPA had done its work even with binoculars during its tenure, it would have been able to do a good job.
"We have sensitivity towards people's problems and we always have microscopic view to see things critically to bring people to the agenda of schemes. We generally avoid binoculars as they give inflated image. We have developed microscopic view and consequently see the lapses and hollowness of the scheme of things enunciated by the NDA government," Gogoi said.
He said though the NDA Government had launched the Jan Dhan Yojana with much fanfare, people were yet to get benefit under the scheme as crediting every individual's bank account with Rs 15 lakh still remain a far cry.
He also criticised the Prime Minister's statement on doubling farmers' income by 2022 and wanted to know whether it was commensurate with fund allocation.
Gogoi said fund cuts on backward region grant, depriving North East of Special Category status, suspension of industrial policy, cut on MG-NREGA and IAY schemes were some of the instances of the Centre's anti-poor and anti-Assam agenda.
