Constable shot at while resisting loot attempt

A police constable was shot at by some unidentified bike-borne miscreants when he resisted their loot attempt on Meerut-Karnal highway near Phugana village here, police said today.
Niraj Kumar, who is posted in Hapur, was on his way to his village along with his wife last evening when a group of robbers tried to loot them, a police official said.
The miscreants shot at Niraj when he opposed their loot bid, he said, adding that he was rushed to a nearby hospital in serious condition.
No arrest has been made so far, police said.
