Corporates, therefore, need to coin a parallel vision for their business and society," he said while speaking at an event on 'Effective Implementation of CSR activity worldwide'.
Choubey added that public sector enterprises have been playing an exemplary role as good corporate citizens. They have been fulfilling their social and welfare obligations with transparency and committment.
European Institute for Asian Studies (EIAS) CEO Axel Goethals emphasised on the need to change mindset inside companies which will be beneficial for the community at large as well.
"CSR in India has become revolutionary with the...Legislation on CSR," Goethals said in a statement from SCOPE.
Inaugrating the event, Secretary Department of Public Enterprises Kusumjit Sidhu said that CSR is about giving to the society without expecting any return.
International Labour Organsiation (ILO) Senior Specialist on Employers' Activities Gotabaya Dasanayaka assured SCOPE of ILO's continued support in various initiatives on CSR and said that CSR should be an embedded programme of firms.
