Chanan Station House Officer (SHO) Ashish Kumar said the couple, Mano Devi (22) and Brihaspati Das (30), used to fight frequently and they probably killed themselves during one such quarrels.
"The well in which they jumped was outside their house in the village. We are investigating the case to ascertain whether there is any foul play involved in it," said Kumar.
The SHO said the couple had a seven-month-old son, which they left behind.
The bodies have been fished out of the well and sent for postmortem at Banka Sadar Hospital.
