The special court (vigilance) - I judge Om Prakash Singh passed the order for confiscation of four cottah land in Digha locality in Patna, Rs 18 lakh cash and investment through shares and debentures.
The judge directed the Patna district to consfiscate it within 30 days after recepit of the court order.
Kumar was arrested from his office in Ara town by the vigilance team on March 25, 2007 for accepting a bribe of Rs. 25,000 and a case was lodged against the former under provisions of corruption act in May that year.
The prosecution filed an application before the vigilance court for consfication of Kumar's properties worth Rs 66 lakhs, but after an argument between the two parties for reduction of value of properties proposed for consfication the court settled for confiscation of properties worth Rs 36 lakhs.
