Debasis Bhattacharyya new head of WB DME

The state government has appointed Dr Debasis Bhattacharyya as the new head of the Directorate of Medical Education (DME).
According to secretariat sources, Bhattacharyya, who was the Principal of the Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College and Hospital, will fill in the vacancy created after Dr Santunu Bandyopadhyay retired this February.
Chief minister Mamata Banerjee, who is also the Health minister of the state, had signed the notification earlier this week, the sources said.
