In a bid to broker peace between Bharti and Singh, Chief Judicial Magistrate Pankaj Singh Maheshwari has asked them to be present at a mediation centre in its premises along with their lawyers, Bharti's lawyer Harish Mehta told PTI.
The direction came after the court today admitted an application moved by Mehta stating about a possibility of compromise between Bharti and Singh.
Bharti was scheduled to record her statement today in connection with the case but couldn't attend and her lawyer represented her.
The senior Congress leader had filed the case against Bharti for her purported statement in 2003 alleging a scam in Madhya Pradesh during Singh's tenure as chief minister between 1993 and 2003.
