Delhi govt's EFC approves projects worth 1,250 cr

The Delhi government's Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC) has approved projects worth Rs 1,250 crore, including setting up of 94 poly clinics and raising bed capacity at seven hospitals.
The committee, headed by Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Manish Sisodia, also approved five new bus depots for parking around 895 buses, an official said.
He said that the bus depots would be constructed at Burari, Bawana Sector-5, East Vinod Nagar, Ghuman Hera and Mundela Village.
The government said that EFC has also given its nod for the remodelling of the Najafgarh Pond drain.
"The EFC has passed a proposal of setting up 94 new poly clinics at an estimated cost of Rs 170.30 crore. In total, 101 projects of the health sector have been approved," the official said.

Bed capacity of the Guru Gobind Singh Hospital (Raghubir Nagar), the Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital (Rohini), the Bhagwan Mahavir Hospital (Pitampura), the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital (Mangolpuri), the Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital (Ashok Vihar), the Rao Tularam Memorial Hospital (Jaffarpur) and the Acharya Shree Bhikshu Hospital (Moti Nagar) has been increased significantly, he said.
The official said that the EFC had approved proposals to add 470 beds at the Guru Gobind Singh Hospital, 400 beds at the Ambedkar Hospital and 477 at the Bhagwan Mahavir Hospital.
"Apart from this, a proposal of the irrigation and flood control department to construct concrete wall of the Najafgarh Pond Drain has also been approved by the EFC," he said.
