Union minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today said digital revolution in the country is playing a key role in making the development process accessible, inclusive and transparent.
"This digital revolution has helped in providing benefits of welfare services to the last person in the society without any hurdle," Naqvi, who is Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs said.
The minister was speaking at a conference of representatives of various cooperative and scheduled banks in Mumbai.
"India is one of those few nations of the world where people have linked with the digital system in such a less span of time," said Naqvi.
"The Centre's Digital India campaign has connected the common man with the government offices. Services are reaching the needy through digital medium. We have set a target to connect 2.5 lakh Gram Panchayats with national optical fibre network," said the minister.
"The campaign is converting the country into a less cash economy. Digital payment, online and mobile banking system is becoming successful in the country. Less cash economy concept based on digital transaction system, will make daily life of the common man easier," he said.
