And Congress leader Ganpatsinh Solanki were today elected unopposed as chairman and vice-chairman of Baroda dairy respectively at a meeting of board of directors.
"BJP MLA Dinesh Patel is elected as the chairman and Ganpatsinh Solanki is elected as the vice chairman of Vadodara District Milk Producers Cooperatives Sangh (Baroda dairy)," said a statement.
Congress managed to retain the post of vice-chairman despite losing majority in the dairy union's board.
The election took place after a directive from the Gujarat High Court.
Outgoing chairman Satish Patel Nishaliya, who is BJP MLA from Karjan, and Dinesh Patel had approached the court over the issue. Patel wanted the election saying majority of the board members were against Nishaliya's continuing as the chairman, while Nishaliya had opposed it.
