DM's passion of writing despite busy life
Press Trust of India Burdwan (WB) Despite being a busy government official with a lot of work pressure one can find time to pursue his or her passion.
District Magistrate of Burdwan, Soumitra Mohan has proved this point by writing books amid his busy work schedule of looking after the law and order and development.
"I think you can do anything if you know the art of time management. I have generally written, at a particular time of the day on the topics based on my experiences. One does not have to take much effort, only find some time to pen the same," Mohan said.
His latest book 'Life Lingua' sold well in Kolkata Book Fair this year. It was released by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at the book fair.
Mohan who started his career as a journalist in Press Trust of India said that he loved writing and sharing field experiences.
"More than that, all of us observe certain things and read books, newspapers, articles and form our opinion. I only put the same in writing when I get time," he said.
"It takes me not more than one to two hours to write an article. And we can definitely find two to four hours time in a month for ourselves. Writing is my passion and also a hobby. I have no interest in partying or any other leisurely activities except my work," Mohan, who has served as DM of Birbhum and Darjeeling, said.
Asked about his latest book 'Life Lingua', he said, "It is an expanded version of my earlier book 'How to Win Your World'. I have taken five years to write this book, stealing time from whatever leisure time I had in all these years," he said adding that he "barely sleeps for five hours, thereby stealing time to pursue passion".
