Enforcement Directorate officials in Goa interacted with foreign nationals here today to explain implementation of Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).
ED officials said around 20 foreign nationals attended the meeting which discussed various issues related to property matters, especially by those who are not citizens of India.
"Those who attended the meeting were explained the legal position of FEMA and other procedures," an ED official said, adding that they were also promised that long-pending cases would be disposed of at the earliest.
ED has been investigating purchases of properties by foreigners in violation of FEMA.
So far, around 20 properties purchased in the state's coastal belt have been confiscated by ED.
