"They (Modi and Karzai) discussed the recent developments in Afghanistan. The Prime Minister reiterated that India and Afghanistan share age-old ties. India deeply values the friendship of the Afghan people. India stands with the people of Afghanistan as they build a united, stable, democratic and prosperous nation," an official release said here.
Modi assured Karzai that India will continue to provide assistance to all the people of Afghanistan based on their needs and priority, the release said.
Meanwhile, Modi today hailed Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan for his Rs 11 lakh contribution for the victims of the Nepal earthquake which was made to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF).
"I thank @SrBachchan ji for donating Rs 11 lakh to the PMNRF for Nepal Earthquake Relief. This is a very kind & compassionate gesture," Modi said in a tweet.
