The incident happened on June 2 when the girl's mother had gone to her brother's home leaving her 17-year-old daughter behind, they added.
Her father returned late in the night and allegedly molested her but when she raised an alarm, he fled.
The next day when he returned, he was thrashed by the locals and the girl's uncle and handed over to police, said a senior police officer.
It has come to light that he had molested his daughter a couple of times in the past too, he added.
His wife and and her brother worked to meet the house expenses. The minor is a student of Class XI in a local school.
