The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) had proposed a 'mature' slot on television between 11 pm and 6 am for telecast of certain films but the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT) set it aside, the government today said.
"The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) had proposed the stipulation that certain films be telecast only between 11 pm to 6 am," Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Rathore said in written reply in Lok Sabha.
"However, when such a stipulation was challenged in the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT), FCAT held that the stipulation of CBFC regarding timimg of telecast of such films is without authority of law and was set aside," Rathore said.
